The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called The Rainbow Bridge.

When a beloved horse dies that has been especially close

to someone here, that friend goes to The Rainbow Bridge.

It's a place of meadows and hills with lush green grass.  There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine; our friends are warm and comfortable.  Those who are old and frail are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again.

They are happy and content, except for one thing...

they miss that special person, the one who had to be left behind.

But then the day comes when suddenly they stop and look into the distance.

Their eyes are fixed and intent; their eager bodies begin to quiver.  Suddenly, one breaks from the herd, galloping over the tall green grass, faster and faster.

You have been spotted.

Now you and your special friend meet once again, and you hug their neck.

You brush their long flowing mane; they gently nuzzle you with loving affection.

Once again, you look into the trusting eyes of your loving horse.

Then you cross The Rainbow Bridge together, never to be parted.
